As people active in the culture field we all feel concern by copyrights issues and its influence
on creativity, we had the idea to prepare a compilation of free interpretation or remix of the 'Free software song' by Richard Stallman. The goal was to spread the ideas about free softwares and alternative licenses to copyrights restrictions. We wanted by this action make people aware of them in and out of the artistic environment. And in a sense, bring together more voice to protest against all those dirty licenses which restrict our freedom....
The compilation was given out as cdr's during the exhibition 'I Saw You Naked' in 2008 in Geneve and it is still available on web page for free downloading, also as edogme netlabel 021 release. The project worked well, bringing Theory into Practice. It caused many discussions in our environment, convincing even some of the participants to use GNU/Linux in their artistic
practices.
